The one holiday when little is required of us.
Simply to prepare food from the rich provision of God’s hand.
To gather as families and loved ones for sharing these gifts.
Remembering the One who continues to give
so we may continue to enjoy.
Setting aside this one day after harvesting is through,
before the rush of Christmas and New Year’s sweeps us along,
to recall the generosity and goodness
of the great Creator, Provider, Savior
and Sustainer of all that lives and moves and breathes.
Refusing to allow coming holidays to crowd out this day of
