It is with the believing that understanding comes…
when the heart acknowledges its own inadequacy,
as the mind accepts an inability to reason through the vastness of the galaxies,
and the soul finds its home in its Source—
in the hands of God.
He has made everything beautiful in its time… He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end. – Ecclesiastes 3:11
Finite intellects cannot receive truth’s revelation en masse…
Instead, God gives it to us in little bits,
filling Creation with symbols, shadows, silhouettes of His presence.
Life-giving clues lie cloaked in obscurity,
tucked into the layers of the universe, into the pages of history;
other proofs are visible, in plain sight—
evidence of Divinity’s hand and breath behind the fashioning
of all we see, hear, touch, taste, smell and understand.
Nature shouts the existence of her Maker,
nudging us to begin our search
for the Eternal One who entered time
to teach us of Him.
Hints of His presence can be heard
in ways beyond explanation…
begging us, urging us to investigate,
to solve the riddles and mysteries of Wisdom and Truth,
by testing, experiencing, examining, proving
what He has revealed.
(Senseless, crediting an incidental explosion, praising random chance,
as history and reality fail to reveal order ever
emerging from chaos.)
When our searching takes us on paths away from God,
our hearts remain hungry.
Not recognizing the void for what it is,
our spirits stir restlessly.
Minds will not settle apart from knowledge based on God.
Souls captive to self cannot break free apart from freedom
discovered in Christ.
And thirstings will never be satisfied without the Love
of the One who made us to Love Him.
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead… – Romans 1:20
Nature in its individual parts,
forming the universe in its entirety…
Together, reflect the beauty and goodness of its Maker.
Within the human intellect we realize there is One Supreme.
And only those who know him find rest.
