We mustn’t forget.

We dare not ignore or neglect.

We cannot walk by faith while keeping in step with the world’s stride.

Because a culture that fails or refuses to be thankful is on the downward slope.

Have you noticed? As we loosen our grasp on the sacred, empty or pagan substitutes slip into our sights; then weasel their way into our hands, into our lives, our homes, our hearts.

As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.  –  Colossians 2:6-7

The world’s offerings will never come close in value to the riches we have in Jesus Christ.

And we’re s-t-u-p-i-d to allow entrapment, when He warns us repeatedly. When God—in wisdom and compassion—begs us.

Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.  –  Colossians 2:8-10

Never has one loved us the way He loves. Why would we trade gold for gilt?

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools…  –  Romans 1:20-22
