In the beginning

in the Light of Creation’s daybreak,

God was there.

He recorded it twice in Scripture—Genesis and the gospel of J0hn. (With a few extra passages detailing the process.)

His purpose breathed, audibly declared with words spoken aloud—for all the without form-ness to acknowledge, having no will of its own. As angels stood in the distance, in silent watching, the will of the Creator by the Word, by His words, brought shape and substance to the emptiness.

His voice became the force behind all we see and know… in the present, the past, in all that is yet to come.

Masquerading as an angel of Light, the prince of darkness and father of lies works relentless to shield human minds and hearts from illumination of truth, blinding us, leading those ignorant and defiant away from Certainty, from the reality of the story of the ages, of authentic beginnings.

He points us to another avenue, to any other way but the only Way, pushing his propaganda on unsuspecting dullards…

If you always walk the straight and narrow, you’ll never know what’s around the corner, his advertisements blare.

Simple minds follow illusion through dim alleyways and dark tunnels, away from the glow pulsating wisdom.

I’ll show you where the real fun is, he says, in silent laughter.

Moving farther from the Light, shadows lengthen as night envelopes those escaping the Day. The farther they travel, the blinder they become.

Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.  –  Matthew 7:13-14

Bread gained by deceit is sweet to a man, but afterward his mouth will be filled with gravel.  –  Proverbs 20:17

The devil in disguise. Convincing us he doesn’t exist… merely the figment of an overactive imagination.

Along the way they find fun for a time, but the destination is kept in obscurity. He knows how we would choose if we knew the outcome.

The path to death. The Way of Life. Substitute glare of pretense or truth-telling Light… Do we recognize the difference?

Straight. Narrow. Fully illuminated. God’s ways are brightly lit. All is plain, nothing disguised. Truth revealed to those who desire to see. Mysteries made known to those seeking to know.

The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.  –  Psalm 145:18

And the disciples came and said to Him (Jesus), Why do You speak to them in parables? He answered and said to them, Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.  –  Matthew 13:10-11

No question, there will be persecution, but afterward, unending glory. And the road will be rough. And trials will come. But a reward awaits. An honest account of what God’s people can anticipate is within reach.

And included in the memo, the remedy for all that ails. As long as we walk in the Light.

From the beginning the Father had a magnificent plan,

Revealed through the law and the prophets, to fulfill the redemption of man.

He spoke after centuries of silence, in the midst of a still, starry night,

Emmanuel came down among us, and the Father said, Let there be light.

Let there be light, let it shine bright, piercing the darkness with dazzling white.

Hope for the hopeless was born on that night,

When God sent His Son and said, Let there be light.
